Arkansas Business: 2013 Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup

Here in Arkansas, student entrepreneurs from the state’s colleges and universities honored yesterday with cash prizes at the 2013 Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup awards. The annual event, once again held at the Statehouse Convention Center, awarded the best graduate and undergraduate student business plans and pitches. Among the winners: University of Arkansas startup Picasolar, which won first prize in the graduate division, taking home $25,000 for its plan to increase the efficiency of solar cells. And Catch-22, a startup from UALR, winning another $25,000 for its business, which would take Asian carp, an invasive fish that is harming the Mississippi River basin, and turn them into liquid fertilizer.
