Meet Jason Gober: Credit Analyst

Jason Gober Credit Analyst We recently sat down with Jason Gober, the newest addition to the Arkansas Capital team! He will be serving as Credit Analyst and all-around awesome guy to go to in order to serve Arkansas’ needs. Get to know him in our Q & A below: What led you to become a credit analyst? What led me to become a Credit Analyst was a growing need by Banks and other organizations to have someone on staff to qualify their prospective and existing customers for commercial loan needs, request, and renewals. Having someone to do that allows more time for the Lenders to get out of the office and get new business. The experience that you get analyzing the different business not only gives insight as to how they operate but is great foreground training for future Commercial Lenders. What will your job at Arkansas Capital entail? My job here is to support the Loan Officers in the Lending Department from the beginning of the application process through the approval process. I will gather all needed documents from the applicants throughout the application process needed for approval required by the SBA. I will order appraisals, environmental investigations reports, and feasibility studies when needed. I will then use all that information to create a Credit Memo in LMS and submit complete applications for SBA approval. Once submitted to SBA, I will be the contact person to address any additional information needed for SBA approval. What excites you the most about your job and industry? The exciting part about this job and industry is learning about the different businesses and how they operate. I decided to get a College degree late in life to be proactive and responsible to the future needs of my family. I graduated in the fall of ’12 from University of Central Arkansas with a degree in Business Administration, Finance. After graduation I worked for a Community Bank qualifying all large commercial and consumer real estate loan requests. What I’ve learned analyzing the different businesses and underwriting loans has given me a great foundation to build my career from. What do you hope to accomplish at Arkansas Capital? Here at Arkansas Capital, I hope to sharpen and perfect my skills in the varying job tasks for which I’m currently responsible for and when the time is right, move in to a role as a Loan Officer producing loans with existing and new customers in Arkansas. What is your favorite Arkansas startup company? Right now my favorite Arkansas Startup would have to be Acxiom. They have come a long way from starting as Demographics, Inc. in 1969 in Conway Arkansas to the leader in its industry in Information Management Services and Solutions for businesses worldwide. What do you enjoy doing in your free time? I enjoy spending time with my wife and two daughters. I personally enjoy fishing, hunting, hiking, and playing golf when I have time.
