Small Business Saturday
Created by American Express as a contrasting counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to buy from small and local businesses. A nationwide radio, television, and social media campaign was launched by American Express announcing the creation of the first Small Business Saturday on November 27, 2010. The UK followed suit 3 years later after witnessing the success for small businesses and traction the campaign achieved. Since its inception in 1957, Arkansas Capital – in partnership with local banks – has provided over $1 billion in capital to small businesses. By providing capital, connections, and other helpful resources, Arkansas Capital empowers entrepreneurs, helps small business’s succeed, and encourages economic growth in our state. Arkansas Capital supports Small Business Saturday every day and encourages consumers to do the same. Small businesses are the lifeblood of community development and Arkansas Capital is excited to celebrate them.
